Gulftainer Company Limited was established in 1976 in the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. The Company is involved in the management and operation of container terminals in the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

The Company commenced operations in 1976 managing and operating container terminals in Port Khalid and Khorfakkan. The Sharjah Container Terminal in Port Khalid was the first purpose built and fully equipped modern Container Terminal in the Middle East. Khorfakkan is one of the world’s leading container transshipment ports strategically located on Sharjah’s Indian Ocean coast close to the main east-west shipping routes. Several major shipping lines call at these ports.
